Dozens of Vehicles Turned Back at Three Checkpoints in East Jakarta

This action will be intensified until seven days after Eid al-Fitr

The East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency officers had stopped around 97 vehicles from visiting their hometowns for Eid al-Fitr holiday and instructed them to go back to where they came from.

Supervision and Control Division Head, Riky Erwinda expressed those vehicles forced to make a U-turn when they passed on Jalan Raya Bogor in the front of Panasonic Gobel, Jalan Raya Bekasi, precisely at Cacing Traffic Light's U-Turn and on Jalan Raya Kalimalang, precisely at the intersection of Jalan H. Naman.

"They are expected to go to West, Central, East Java and DI Yogyakarta, which are recorded on May 6 to 16," he said, Tuesday (5/18).

His party also took part in the AKAP bus passenger control activities at the Pulogebang Integrated Terminal.

Based on the data gathered on May 6-5, it was noted that as many as 408 passengers had been stopped and asked to go back after they failed to produce the necessary permits and travel requirements, such as a letter resulting from a negative swab, an official travel document, or a certificate from the company or other requirements.

To anticipate returning flow after Eid, as many as 36 officers had been on standby at three checkpoints and 10 other officers on Jalan Pantura, precisely in Kedung Waringin, Bekasi, West Java.

"This action will be intensified until seven days after Eid al-Fitr," he stated.
